Capturing Love Stories in the Charm of Northport Village
Ah, October on Long Island - the cool, crisp air and the beautiful colors of the changing leaves. For us, it brings back memories of less demanding days, like walking home from school and simply enjoying the season. October is also a time for love and new beginnings, which is why we love engagement seasons!
Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Ashley and Steve for their engagement session. The couple chose the charming downtown area of Northport, NY, for their photos and it couldn't have been a more perfect location. The harbor and downtown alleys provided beautiful opportunities for photos, with a mix of quaint streets and more industrial elements. The couple also brought their adorable dogs, Riley and Winky, which made for some fun, unique shots.
During the session, we got to know Ashley and Steve's love story and it was clear to see the love and connection they share. The couple were playful and energetic and were open to our creative suggestions. That's one of the things we recommend to all our couples - find a photographer that matches your energy. Engagement photos should not only capture your love in that moment, but tell your love story as a whole.
Scouting locations for engagement sessions can be overwhelming, but we recommend thinking outside the box. Take into consideration the different locations that are meaningful to you as a couple, and choose a location that offers a variety of settings to ensure a well-rounded and diverse collection of photos. We loved the variety that downtown Northport offered for Ashley and Steve's engagement session - from the quaint streets to the industrial elements of the harbor. It allowed us to capture a mix of romantic and candid shots that truly reflect the couple's personalities and love story.
Ashley and Steve were an amazing couple to work with, and their love for each other radiated throughout the entire session. We wish them all the happiness in the world as they start this next chapter of their lives together.
For all of you recently engaged couples out there, we'd love to hear from you! Leave a comment with any questions you might have about engagement sessions or tips for location scouting. We're happy to help in any way we can.
